Leaning into the Heavy and the Dark Joy Division. A Wall of Sound.

Ceremony81

Leaning into the heavy and the dark, with Joy Division as the inspiration, Ceremony81 creates both a familiar and utterly new aesthetic experience.

Dalty - Bass: founding member/mascot of San Francisco's Angry Amputees (winner SF Weekly's  best punk band 2002, Warped tour 2001/02, SXSW 2003), Oakland's 2008 punk rock band New Hope for the Dead, & 2012 indie rock band Roshon. One of the 1st survivors of bacterial meningitis in 1989 , Dalty performs with no fingers or legs instead of relying on stump attacks.

Doc G. Holler - Drums: Descending from San Diego's 80's punk as the founding member of Funeral March and banging it out for a slew of other super cool bands like The Subterraneans, Nihilist Stomp & Dissonance. Holler returned to the post-punk scene with a Ph.D. as the drummer for Sunday's Smile before joyously joining Ceremony81.

Karen Mitchell - Vocals: (nee Karen Schub) Lead Singer for Los Angeles Goth band, Widow’s Weave, San Francisco alternative band Sirena & triphop stars Diggsville (Songs from Nowhere 2004), featured vocalist for SoCal darlings Drowning Pool, Dark Arts' Carnival of Lost Souls 1991, film soundtrack In the Wake, and Ox Bow’s 1996 Serenade in Red alongside Marianne Faithful. Recently, emerging from a deep delirium, she is ready to transform the stage with Ceremony81.

Stephen Traiger - Guitar: Member of Western Massachusetts band Kaspar Hauser and Boston's Nova Mob before moving to CA to live the dream.
